This chamber orchestra was founded in 1991 by a group of musicians initially dedicated to promoting and performing 20th-century chamber music, with a special focus on Italian and contemporary composers whose works were rarely heard in concert halls at the time. Over the years, the ensemble expanded its repertoire to include outstanding masterpieces of the Baroque and Classical periods, made possible through valuable collaborations with talented Italian and international soloists.
The ensemble gained international recognition through performances at prestigious European festivals, including the Festival Internacional de Música y Arte in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, where it represented Italy. It has also been invited to perform in Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Ukraine, and the Baltic countries. For more than twenty years, the ensemble has devoted particular attention to Italian composers, presenting programs that promote the musical heritage of Istria and Venice from the Baroque era to contemporary music.
The orchestra has received strong acclaim from both audiences and critics, attracting the interest of several composers who have dedicated original works specifically written for the ensemble.
Since 2013, the orchestra has been regularly invited to tour in major European capitals. Recently, the International Institute for Human Rights Studies, participating in UNESCO and Council of Europe initiatives, appointed the ensemble as its “Official Artistic Representative,” as well as Artistic Representative of the Regional Council of Associations of People with Disabilities and Their Families of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The ensemble has recorded for HMS France, RTV Slovenia, and Sony Austria.
